Dr Christopher Sim is the director of Mount Elizabeth Dental Surgery since 1986. He is a Singapore Dental Council (SDC) Certified Specialist in Prosthodontics. A Prosthodontist is a trained dental specialist who specialises in the areas of
dental implants, crowns and bridges as well as
cosmetic dentistry. He has lectured extensively on

Dr Christopher Sim is currently a member of the Ministry of Health, Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) Committee for Dental Implants. The committee is given the task of maintaining the clinical standards for the treatment of Edentulism with Dental Implants in Singapore.
Dr Christopher Sim obtained his dental degree from the National University of Singapore in 1981. He completed his MDS primary exam in 1982 before proceeding to the world renowned Institute of Dental Surgery, Eastman Dental Hospital, London for specialist training. He graduated with M.Sc.in Restorative Dentistry (London) in 1984.
In 1998 he was inducted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine. In 2003 he was conferred FAMS (Prosthodontics) by the Academy of Medicine.
Dr Christopher Sim has been involved in Implant Dentistry since 1991. He was trained in Oral Implantology under his mentor, Prof.Dr. George.H.Nentwig who is the Head of Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Implantology, University of Frankfurt, Germany.
In 2003 Dr Sim was awarded Cert.in.Oral Implantology (with Distinction) from the University of Frankfurt ,Germany. Dr Sim gained international recognition when in 2003, he was conferred Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologist with certification in both Implant Surgery and Implant Prosthetics.
Dr Christopher Sim 's forte in Implant Dentistry is that he is able to provide seamless treatment for his dental implant patients as he one of the few dental specialists in Singapore who is experienced in both Implant Surgery and Implant Prosthetics.
In recognition of his experience and expertise in implant Dentistry, since 2007,he was appointed as a Course Director of the Apsun Dental implant Education and Research Centre, Korea.
Presently Dr Sim is also a member of a multinational team of
dental implant surgeons in conducting clinical trials for a well known dental implant company.
Dr Sim is also a pioneer in Cosmetic Dentistry. With his back ground in Restorative Dentistry, he started using porcelain veneers to improve his patients' smile as early as 1988. Since then he has transformed and beautified countless smiles for his patients. Some of his early pioneer veneer cases done in the late 1980s are still fully functional to this day. |
