Female 52 c/o of loosened lower right second molar due to severe gum disease. The tooth was extracted.
Implant installation
The missing tooth area was numbed with local anaesthetic . A small incision was made on the gum and an osteotomy hole was atraumatically drilled
into the bone under very low speed with copious irrigation. A 4 x 8 mm Straumann SLA Active Implant was inserted into the bone.
Healing Abutment
A healing abutment was screwed on to the internal connection of the implant to allow gum healing.
Osseointergrated Implant
8 weeks later the Straumann Implant is osseointergrated . Picture shows the healing abutment removed . The implant is now ready for the restorative phase : Impression taking.
Abutment installation
The laboratory customized abutment is then screwed into the implant body . This peg will provide support for the final implant crown .
Implant Crown
The laboratory fabricated Implant Crown is then cemented onto the abutment. P.A. Xray shows a functional Straumann SLA Active Dental Implant and the Implant crown .
